Many critics as usual…its art through a perhaps anger actor and we know Cudi is madd! LOL  Check it out, I guess for me these types of “snuff”  grostisque flims aren’t my cup of tea but I’ll watch it enough to not have nightmares but to have an opinion (if I have one). I don’t like all the critics out there because I’m like what are you doing? If you had Shia’s money what would you produce? Let’s hope its something worth talking about!

This is the Official Music Video for the short film ‘Call For Back Up” written & starring Tiffany Black. It is currently gearing for the festival circuit, first up the Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) in which it was chosen.

This thought-provoking comedy tells the story of international pop star, Strangelica, who finds herself enigmatic when she learns her back-up singers have been instructed to outsing her due to her severe lack of vocal abilities. This short film is an adaptation from a one-act stage play.

One more for the night! A trailer for a film entitled ‘Doubles with Slight Pepper’, from the trailer I gathered it is about the trials between father and son. The son is a adult who looks like he is in a bit of life struggle, I think I also see that maybe his father may become eventually ill. It all surrounds the delicious Indian dishes displayed at the end! I can’t wait to see more, very interesting. Check it out!

So, I Vimeo surfing which I haven’t done in a while but I needed to see whats new with my indy film-making buds! Here is one, I liked entitled Lament, about a man that has a hard time with saying the L word to his partner. There’s anguish and pondering. Shot on a DLSR 7D, and a well used dolly… the color and lighting is nice. I am not sure but it looks like this was shot on a Carribean island or a country in Africa it just has the feel. I’ve been to West Africa, and the buildings and certain things look similar. Either way…. check it out!

Happy Hump day to ya! I hope you lads & ladies are enjoying your evenings/nights and just remember its almost Friday! Not that it really matters for me because the way I work everyday is just a day not a week or weekend (freelance) this is how it goes down!

Anyway, on my down time I am able to really put my brain into focus on how to put all of my ventures under one umbrella…this is something new. I will actually talk about this in another blog post to come. However, this new project is the first of the many projects to come from the Film-making division within in my company.  This first project details are below:

Directing Series Part I: ‘The Perception of Love & Connecting”

I believe in this day in age our ways to communicate personally are so jaded by technology that we can often miss the message completely. *Yes I am a culprit of texting, tweeting, facebooking, emailing and so on…but what really ever happened to good ol’ face 2 face talking, hell even picking up a “land-line” dialing a number and talking to your friend? That rarely happens these days unless your Grandma & Grandpa and even they have iPads & email addresses!

Don’t get me wrong, technology is awesome, we literally have the ability to see people via a video chat in Africa from the U.S or  you can call someone via your mobile from the epicenter of the world while you are in Dubai (if you get the coverage) but you get my drift! lol

Anyway, because of this communication dilemma we all experience I wanted my Directing Series Part I to be about ‘The Perception of Love & Connecting’, this series will be comprised of 3 film shorts that are different in concept but are all the same in its mission to show how communication is a pivotal part in life.

Part I Project A: Breakfast @ Audrey’s 60-120sec short

The theme is driven from the party scene from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, it will be a updated version of the wild and crazy, wacky loud party where “no one” is really communicating. I put together some photos of the scene to get an idea for myself.  The quote I am working around is:

“Technology is killing communication don’t let it die, talk don’t text”

I will provide more information regarding this Part I Project A very soon…just locking in everything.

As a filmmaker I am very visual, so as I step into the directors area and place the hat upon my head again for this next short film, I decided within my scene and script break down over the next couple of weeks I would like to visually see the colors I am thinking of for the tone of this film.

It is a dramatic short, about a very deep and serious subject. I want to make sure the tone fits the film to the” T” and that my actors portray the characters as such. Here is just the first of many post within the next weeks to come about this next film project.

The film is entitle ‘Sins of the Father’ (written by Monet Ravenell) its a 20min short; more info to come. My team and I are currently in Pre-Production for the next month to get everything together so production can be as smooth as possible!
